“My father always said…
…never trust a man whose TV is bigger than his book shelf.”
– Emilia Clarke
You all know Bryan and I are huge advocates of reading books as portals to help you discover and live The Great Man Within You.
But we all know the experience of dedicating 5-10 hours in reading or listening to a book…and then having 99% of the wisdom slip out of our minds only a few weeks or days later.
So, back by popular demand is a guest we had on this show a year ago – episode #57 – called Your Ultimate Guide to Reading and Retaining Books featuring Juvoni Beckford.
Juvoni is a software engineer at Google, a disciple of the systems and habit based approach to living an optimal lifestyle, and a rapacious reader who devours roughly 60 books a year.
If you haven’t listened to our first interview with Juvoni, you
may want to start there first because he outlines some basic
building blocks about:
How to choose which books to read
Why you need a “book purgatory”
Why you should dismiss 1 and 5 star book reviews in favor of the 3
star reviews
